LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities Monday were investigating a "massive illegal fireworks show" in downtown Los Angeles.
Officers were sent to the area of First and Los Angeles streets about 10:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. No arrests have been reported.
"Central Division is investigating the massive illegal fireworks show that occurred late last evening," the LAPD's Central Division said in a statement on X, formerly Twitter. "We ask our stakeholders in the area to please contact us with surveillance video. This was coordinated and planned."
Video of the fireworks show has been circulated on TV stations.
"With the assistance of the public, Central Officers were able to find the location of where the midnight fireworks show was deliberately initiated,'right across the street from a federal facility,' the LAPD said in a later statement. "This was a planned incident."
