Average LA County Gas Price Drops for 55th Time in 56 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 55th time in 56 days, decreasing a half-cent to $5.025, its lowest amount since July 26.

The average price has dropped $1.29 over the past 56 days, including 1.1 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 10.5 cents less than one week ago, 52.1 cents lower than one month ago and 15.4 cents cheaper than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.469 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The average price dropped 43 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 12, then resumed decreasing the next day.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 24th time in 25 days, decreasing a half-cent to $4.86, its lowest amount since July 6. It has dropped 35.5 cents over the past 25 days, including 1.5 cents Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 12.3 cents less than one week ago, 49.4 cents lower than one month ago and 20 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.599 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 57th consecutive day, falling three-tenths of a cent to $3.265. It has dropped 57 cents over the past 57 days, including 1.3 cents Thursday.

The national average price is 6.8 cents less than one week ago, 28 cents lower than one month ago and 32.1 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.751 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.2.
