Man Killed After Being Pinned Between Cars Identified

CALABASAS (CNS) - A 68-year-old motorist who was killed when a vehicle speeding into a parking lot in Calabasas struck a parked vehicle, pinning him between both vehicles, was identified by county authorities  Tuesday.

The Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner's office identified the victim as Eric Hamermesh of McKinney, Texas.

The crash occurred at about 2:40 p.m. Saturday in the 26400 block of Rondell Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.

A vehicle entered the parking lot from Las Virgenes Road, "accelerated uncontrollably" and colliding with a parked vehicle, according a department statement.

Hamermesh, who was exiting his parked vehicle, was pinned between both vehicles. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

No further information was available.
