Man Found Dead in Compton Identified

COMPTON (CNS) - A 71-year-old man who was found dead in Compton was identified Wednesday.

Sheriff's detectives were sent to the 400 block of South Oleander Avenue Tuesday around 9:23 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was identified as Gilbert Dawson, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office.

Dawson was discovered with trauma to his upper body, sheriff's officials said, and Compton Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
