Los Angeles Police officers were called at approximately 8:09 p.m. Friday to Chandler Avenue and Tujunga Boulevard, west of the light rail station where they learned the victim was walking on Chandler when he encountered another man and an argument ensued, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.

The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim and then ran away from the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
