SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 49-year-old man was behind bars Wednesday on charges of pimping and raping a woman in Anaheim.

Charles Raymont Robinson was charged Tuesday with single counts each of human trafficking, pimping, pandering, rape, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and criminal threats, all felonies. Robinson pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was next due in court for a pretrial hearing April 19 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.

Police were sent at 6:30 p.m. Sunday to a motel on the 1200 block of East Orangethorpe Avenue to check on a woman staying there, Anaheim police Sgt. Jon McClintock said.

Robinson is accused of raping, pimping and assaulting the woman at the motel, McClintock said. The alleged rape happened on Saturday and the woman was threatened and assaulted on Sunday, according to the criminal complaint.
