SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 62-year-old woman was charged Thursday with killing her mother in Buena Park.
Mercedes Camarena was charged with one count of murder. She is accused of killing 95-year-old Maria Hernandez on Tuesday, according to Buena Park police.
Police were dispatched to 7551 Orangethorpe Ave. about 5:30 a.m. on a medical aid call.
Hernandez, who had "visible traumatic injuries," was pronounced dead in the apartment, police said. Camarena was arrested at the scene, police said.
Camarena, who works in real estate, was being held on $1 million bail, according to jail records.
