`Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' Beats Out `Cocaine Bear' With $32.2M

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" held onto its box office lead, grossing $32.2 million in its second weekend in North American theaters to lead all films, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The Marvel comic book sequel beat out the horror comedy "Cocaine Bear," which opened with $23 million Friday through Sunday for second place.

The faith-based film "Jesus Revolution" opened in third place with $15.5 million, Comscore reported.

"Avatar: The Way of Water" was fourth with $4.7 million in its 11th week of release, followed by "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish," which made $4.1 million in its 10th week.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were "Magic Mike's Last Dance" ($3 million), "Knock at the Cabin" ($1.87 million), "80 for Brady" ($1.83 million), "Missing" ($1 million) and "A Man Called Otto" ($850,000).

This weekend's overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $91.6 million. The year-to-date total is $1.08 billion -- an increase of 47% over the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.
