Firefighters Rescue 57-Year-Old Hiker in Sylmar Area

SYLMAR (CNS) - A woman was injured while hiking with her dog Tuesday in the Sylmar area, and firefighters deployed a helicopter to hoist her to safety.

Fire crews responded to a 911 call received at 4:18 p.m. about a 57- year-old woman who suffered an unspecified, non-life-threatening injury in the 13000 block of West Sayre Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

While the woman was air-lifted to safety, a member of the rescue crew walked the woman's dog out of the area.
