SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 25-year-old registered sex offender has been sentenced to six months in jail to violating post-release community supervision for a sexual battery on a woman in Garden Grove, according to court records obtained Wednesday.

Jerry Matilde of Garden Grove pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his release on Tuesday. He was given credit for 70 days in jail.

On Dec. 28, about 9:11 a.m. in the 11200 block of Magnolia Street, Matilde touched the buttocks of a woman who was out for a morning walk, according to court records. He said it was an accident but ran away and the victim chased after him, according to court records. During the chase he lost his jacket and the victim found a piece of paper with his name on it in the jacket, according to court records.

Matilde was convicted previously of touching a store clerk on the buttocks and women in the parking lot on July 27, according to court records. He was also previously convicted of grabbing a 15-year-old relative and exposing himself to another family member, probation officials said in court papers.
