SUN VALLEY (CNS) - At least one dog was killed Wednesday during an apparent burglary attempt at a Sun Valley home.

Police said the attempted break-in occurred around 3:30 p.m. at a home near Sheldon Street and Telfair Avenue.

The suspect was spotted in the backyard of the home, and police spotted at least one dead dog nearby. The suspect, a man, was eventually taken into custody.

It was unclear if anyone was home at the time, but police said it appeared the dog may have attacked the suspect during the attempted break-in.

ABC7 reported that three dogs were killed.
