Southland Gas Prices On The Decline Again

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped seven-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.51, its third consecutive decrease.

The average price is seven-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 20.1 cents less than one month ago and 16.8 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is $1.984 less than the record $6.494 set Oct. 5.

The Orange County average price dropped 1.2 cents to $4.424, its fourth consecutive decrease following a 12-day streak of increases. It is eight- tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 15.3 cents less than one month ago and 22.5 cents lower than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $2.035 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.

The national average price decreased four-tenths of a cent to $3.281. It is 7.3 cents more than one week ago, but 4.8 cents less than one month ago and 2.3 cents lower than one year ago. The national average price is $1.735 lower than the record $5.016 set June 14.
