Authorities ID Man Found Dead in Freight Elevator in Downtown LA Building

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man found dead in the doorway of a freight elevator at the rear of a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles was identified by authorities today, and the investigation was continuing into the death.

Paramedics were sent to the 800 block of South Broadway about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. On Thursday, the Los Angeles County coroner's office identified him as Francisco Orduno Mota, 68, of Los Angeles. An autopsy was pending, the coroner's office reported.

According to the LAFD, Mota was found ``trapped at the second floor level freight elevator doorway at the rear of a six-story commercial building.''

Mota worked in the building, ABC7 reported. The investigation was continuing.
