LA Man Killed in Crash Involving Car, Big Rig in Vernon

VERNON (CNS) - A man who died in a crash involving a big rig and passenger car in Vernon was identified today as a Los Angeles resident.

The coroner's office identified the victim as 29-year-old Daniel Gomez, and an autopsy showed he died from blunt force injuries. The crash was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday near Bonnie Beach Place and Bandini Boulevard. 

The car wound up wedged beneath the truck, and an unknown number of patients required extrication. Gomez died in the crash, and three other people were critically injured, authorities said. The cause of crash was not immediately available.
