Little Change to Southland Gas Prices

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.442.

The average price had dropped 42 times in 43 days, decreasing $1.106, then rose four-tenths of a cent Saturday and 1.5 cents Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.1 cents less than one week ago, 70.4 cents lower than one month ago and 23.3 cents cheaper than one year ago.

The average price is $2.052 less than the record $6.494 on Oct. 5.

The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $4.356, its third consecutive increase after dropping 41 of the previous 42 days. It's 1.6 cents more than one week ago, but 66.9 cents lower than one month ago and 28.4 cents cheaper than one year ago.

The Orange County average price is $2.001 less than the record $6.357 set Oct. 5.

The national average price was unchanged at $3.102. It is 4 cents less than one week ago, 46.4 cents lower than one month ago and 18.8 cents cheaper than one year ago. The national average price is $1.914 lower than the record $5.016 set June 14.
