`Charmed' Actress Dies in Utah After Battle with Ovarian Cancer

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Actress Rebecca Balding, who appeared on the TV shows "Soap" and "Charmed," has died following a battle with ovarian cancer, according to media reports. She was 73.

Her husband, James L. Conway, confirmed to multiple media outlets that she died in Park City, Utah, on Monday.

Rebecca Balding was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and studied acting at the University of Kansas. She started her acting career in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles.

She played Carol David in the ABC series "Soap" in 19 episodes from 1978 to 1980.

Balding played Elise Rothman, Alyssa Milano's boss, in "Charmed" in 1998.

"Rebecca Balding was not only a wonderful actress, she was such a good person," Milano wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the two from "Charmed."

"I loved every minute I got to spend with her on Charmed. I have such fond memories of Rebecca and her husband, Jim, dancing at our wrap parties!"

Rebecca Balding also appeared on "Home Improvement," "Beverly Hills 90210," 7th Heaven," "Family Ties" and "Melrose Place."

She is survived by her husband, her daughters, Sarah and Kathleen, and her grandchildren.
