Pursuit Ends in Deadly South Los Angeles Crash

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - One person was killed after a reported stolen Kia Sportage crashed in South Los Angeles following a pursuit.

The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. in the 11600 block of South Central Avenue, near the Century (105) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

CBS2 and ABC7 reported between four and seven vehicles were involved in the collision, but authorities could not confirm the number.

One motorist was killed in the collision. That person's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver and a passenger in the stolen Kia were also injured in the collision and were handcuffed to gurneys before they were taken from the scene, ABC7 reported. It was not immediately known if there were additional injuries due to the collision.

The westbound Century Freeway off-ramp at South Central Avenue was closed for an unknown duration as authorities investigated the crash.
