Three people were found dead from drug overdoses in a skid row apartment on Wednesday. The two men and a woman died of suspected fentanyl overdoses on the 6th floor of a Los Angeles apartment run by the Skid Row Housing Trust, a nonprofit that attempts to house homeless people. Witnesses say drug use is rampant in the apartments run by the nonprofit and the buildings are in a sad state of disrepair and the people in these apartments are living in uninhabitable conditions.
Fentanyl flooding the streets of Los Angeles has hit the homeless population especially hard. Heavy drug use is commonly seen at these Skid Row Housing Trust apartments. A man that lives in one of the apartments named Steven Archuleta told the LA Times:
“It’s become the norm here. Something’s got to be done about this fentanyl, because it’s worse than COVID.”
