The Federal Emergency Management Agency is getting ready to send personnel and resources to Florida. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell reportedly stated:
"That the organization has a variety of generators and 128,000 gallons of fuel ready for deployment. For those in need, 3.7 million meals and 3.5 million liters of water were prepared."
"Federal medical teams are on hand, and about 350 members of the Army Corps of Engineers are prepared to assess the storm’s impact on power and fuel," Ms. Criswell said.
According to NBC News' Chris Pollone, Hurricane Ian has been upgraded to a Category 4 storm, forcing mandatory evacuations for regions along the state's gulf coast.
