More trouble on Los Angeles’ railroads… According to LAPD Chief Michael Moore, guns were some of the items that were stolen off of cargo containers in Lincoln Heights in the past few weeks.

While speaking to Police Commission about the recent trouble at the railroads, Chief Moore said:

“People were ... breaking into these containers and stealing firearms, tens of firearms,”

He continued by saying:

“That gave us the great concern as a source again of further violence in the city as people were capitalizing on the transport of these containers with having little or no policing or security services there.”

Though receiving national attention, the crime continued.

“Despite all the attention brought to this, and despite the ongoing efforts by Union Pacific to solve some additional security elements, we still have people that are still drawn to this location,”

Chief Michael Moore said

Last Thursday, the date Governor Gavin Newsom “helped” bag debris on the Union Pacific train tracks, the LAPD arrested approximately six individuals who had been monitored committing crimes on the tracks.

According to LAPD Deputy Chief Al Labrada, the LAPD has recovered “numerous guns” from individuals who have stated the weapons came from the boxcars in Lincoln Heights.

Union Pacific has apparently agreed to clean up the area more frequently, according to Chief Michael Moore.
