INDUSTRY (CNS) - Ballot counting continues in Los Angeles County Wednesday, and thanks to Jack the ballot-sniffing yellow Labrador retriever, election workers can rest assured they won't be handling harmful substances.
Jack is working his third election.
As mail-in and drop-box ballots arrive at the processing center in Industry, the canine champion of democracy will continue to give them a going over Wednesday.
Jack is one of two ballot-sniffing dogs used in Los Angeles County - the other is a Lab named Tito. They are part of a pack, if you will, of dogs used throughout jurisdictions in the United States to help keep election workers safe, according to various reports.
The specially trained dogs are provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
