Two 15-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of planning a school shooting in Corona.
The arrests were made after the FBI notified the Corona Police Department on October 6 about social media communications indicating a possible threat to Corona High School. According to the police, the initial investigation led to the arrest of a 15-year-old girl from Corona High School. As the investigation continued, another 15-year-old girl from Norco High School was also arrested.
The police department has been on high alert due to a series of threats circulating on social media platforms like TikTok. These threats have heightened concerns about potential violent attacks at school campuses nationwide. Hey SoCal reported that the FBI's Los Angeles office stated it was not aware of any credible threats to schools in the region following the social media posts.
The Corona Police Department continues to investigate the case, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Sgt. John Healy at the department at healy@CoronaCa.gov or by calling 951-279-3635.
