LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man in his 40s was gravely injured in a stabbing Wednesday at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

Firefighters were called about 5:30 a.m. to the 800 block of Alameda Street, the location of Union Station, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A 43-year-old was in grave condition when taken to a hospital, according to a fire department spokeswoman, who said the stabbing was reported by Union Station security.

A broadcast report showed a man sitting upright on a gurney more than an hour after the stabbing was reported, but it was unclear if he was involved in the stabbing.
