Trump's Role In 2026 Midterm Elections Revealed

President Donald Trump will return to the campaign trail in support of Republicans during the 2026 midterm elections, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles confirmed during an appearance on The Mom View presented by conservative organization Moms for America.

Wiles said that Trump would “work very hard to keep for keep the majority” in both the House of Representatives and Senate in similar fashion to his own successful presidential campaign in 2024.

“I haven’t quite broken it to him yet, but he’s going to campaign like it’s 2024 again,” Wiles said. “All these people that he helps — he doesn’t help everybody — but for those he does, he’s a difference maker, and he’s certainly a turnout machine.”

Wiles said Trump's approach will vary from strategies used by prior administrations, claiming the president would use his popularity to boost Republican candidates the same way he did during his own election years.

“Typically in the midterms, it’s not about who’s sitting at the White House. You localize the election, and you keep the federal officials out of it,” she said. “We’re actually going to turn that on its head, and put him on the ballot, because so many of those low propensity voters are Trump voters.”

Wiles acknowledged the Democrats' sweep in last month's off-year elections and said that Trump needed to mobilize conservative voters in the crucial midterm elections.

“We saw … what happens when he’s not on the ballot and not active,” she said.

Wiles also said that Trump "started raising money for the midterms the day after the election,” which will be used to help the GOP retain control of the House and Senate in 2026.

“He’s sitting on a huge war chest to help these people. And he’ll use it,” she said. “… Nobody can outwork him, so there’s every reason to be confident.”
