LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A motorist suffered "pretty severe" injuries in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning near Boyle Heights, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 1:30 a.m. in the area of North Soto Street and East Valley Boulevard, according to a watch commander at the LAPD's Central Traffic Division.

The motorist, the lone occupant inside the vehicle, struck a fire hydrant and a light standard.

There was no other immediate information available.
