Average LA County Gas Price Drops for Ninth Day in a Row

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the ninth consecutive day and 18th time in 19 days, decreasing 1.5 cents to $5.227.

The average price has dropped 14.5 cents over the past 19 days, including 1 cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped nine consecutive days, was unchanged May 6 and resumed dropping the following day.

The average price is 7 cents less than one week ago and 17 cents lower than one month ago, but 39 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.267 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped, decreasing 1.4 cents to $5.143, a day after it dropped 1.3 cents.

The Orange County average price is 6 cents less than one week ago and 20.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 35.1 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.316 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price also dropped, decreasing a half-cent to $3.607, a day after it dropped seven-tenths of a cent. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago and 2.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 7.2 cents higher than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.409 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
