LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1.3 cents Sunday to $5.144, its 13th consecutive increase.

The average price is the highest it's been since Nov. 15, and is 11.1 cents more than one week ago, 29.4 cents more than one month ago and 28.2 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.35 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price also rose for the 13th consecutive day, increasing 1 cent to $5.106, its highest amount since Nov. 3. It is 12 cents more than one week ago, 28.4 cents more than one month ago and 28.4 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.353 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped one-tenth of a cent for the third consecutive day, to $3.535. It is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 21.6 cents more than one month ago and 3.4 cents more than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.481 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

"Uncertainty of the impact of Ukraine's targeting of Russia's oil infrastructure likely spiked oil prices recently," said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. "But those concerns have abated somewhat for now, and gas prices are settling into a pattern similar to last year when the usual seasonal increase was slow and steady."
