KOREATOWN (CNS) - A garage fire at a two-story home in Koreatown was quickly extinguished Saturday.

Firefighters responded at 3:38 a.m. to the 800 block of South Kingsley Drive between Eighth Street and James M. Wood Boulevard where they found flames coming from the attached garage at the vacant Craftsman home, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bert Fierro.

Fire crews were able to minimize the damage to the home, Fierro said.

It took 28 firefighters 15 minutes to knock down the fire.

A parked vehicle at the home was damaged due to the high heat from the flames coming from the garage, Fierro said.

The city Department of Building and Safety was called to access the damage to the come. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
