Northeast Storms Wreak Havoc

Heavy winds and snowstorms wreaked havoc in the Northeastern U.S. on Tuesday.

  • Winds of up to 60 mph forced more than 1,200 flights to be canceled Tuesday morning, mostly out of New York or Boston.
  • Many schools and government offices were closed. New York banned empty tractor trailers due to high winds, while Pennsylvania declared a statewide 45 mph speed limit.
