It has been announced that the popular tax filing program TurboTax is banned from calling itself free.
- This follows a filing from the Federal Trade Commission that said the program from Intuit could not be referred to as "free" if it was not free for everyone or if it was cost-free to a percentage of qualified customers.
"When the matter ultimately returns to a neutral body we will prevail," Intuit shared in a statement on Monday. "Intuit has always been clear, fair and transparent with its customers and is committed to free tax preparation."
