Driver Killed in South LA Crash; Other Driver Flees on Foot

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A motorist was fatally injured in a two-vehicle, hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles, authorities said Sunday, adding that the other driver fled the scene on foot.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:25 p.m. Saturday to the 200 block of West 60th Street, where a person was trapped in the wreckage, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

Paramedics rushed one person to a hospital.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a vehicle going north on Broadway was struck by another vehicle making a right turn onto Broadway from westbound 60th Street. The driver in the westbound vehicle fled the scene on foot, and the motorist rushed to the hospital later died from his injuries, police said.

No suspect description was released.
