LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 51-year-old man who was killed by a hit-and-run driver as he rode his bicycle in the Hyde Park neighborhood was identified by county authorities Saturday.
Jacinto Ayala Gurrola was identified as the victim, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner's office. His city of residence was not known.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Southwest Division were called at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to Vernon and Sixth avenues where they learned the victim was riding east on Vernon when a vehicle driving in the same direction struck him and did not stop to render aid, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced Gurrola dead at the scene.
There was no vehicle or driver description.
