LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities Wednesday sought the public's help to find the hit-and-run motorist responsible for badly injuring a motorcyclist in the south Los Angeles area in June.

The crash occurred about 11:20 a.m. on June 26 at Grand Avenue near 35th Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

According to police, two 2021-2022 silver Honda Accords were southbound on Grand Avenue when one of the drivers made a U-turn mid-block and crashed into the motorcyclist, who was northbound on Grand Avenue.

"The Honda driver fled the scene northbound on Grand Avenue to eastbound Jefferson Boulevard, and was last seen southbound (on) Hill Street from Jefferson Boulevard," police said.

The motorcyclist was treated for severe injuries, and was expected to survive, police said.

A standing reward of up to $25,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for help in solving a non-fatal hit and run.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Det. Juan Campos at 213-833-3713, or email him at 31480@LAPD. Tipsters may also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
