Johnny Hardwick, the actor who voiced the character Dale Gribble on the long-running cartoon show King of the Hill has died. Producers of the show announced Hardwick's passing, but the cause of death has not been released. Not only was Hardwick the voice of one of King of the Hill's main characters, but he was also a writer, story editor, and producer on the show that ran for 13 seasons.
Hulu is bringing back King of the Hill and Hardwick was set to reprise his role as Dale Gribble for the revival. He wasn't able to complete his voice work for the show before his passing. 20th Television Animation and Hulu issued a statement about Hardwick.
“Johnny Hardwick was an incredibly beloved member of the ‘King of the Hill’ family, whose tremendous talent, brilliant humor and friendship will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to work with him over the past 25 years. Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family as we mourn the loss of one of the animation greats. His voice gave life to one of our most iconic characters, and he will be truly missed.”
