Vacant Home in Westlake Damaged by Fire

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Fire damaged a vacant single-family home and threatened a nearby apartment building in Westlake before firefighters knocked down the blaze within 20 minutes of their arrival, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.

The fire at the one-story home on the 200 block of North Dillon Street was reported at 10:25 p.m., department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

It was well involved when firefighters arrived, Stewart said.

Firefighters were able to safely evacuate people from the threatened apartment building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no other details were released.
