LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities Thursday sought the public's help to find the hit-and-run motorist responsible for badly injuring a bicyclist in the Westlake area.
The man was hit by a car about 8:45 p.m. on May 13 at the intersection of Hoover and Carondelet streets, Detective Juan Campos of the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Traffic Division told City News Service.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital for treatment of "severe injuries" that were not life-threatening, Campos said. The hit-and-run car was described as a white older-model Nissan Sentra, Campos said.
"The bicyclist landed on the hood and windshield of the vehicle and rolled off the vehicle landing on the street," Campos said, "The driver fled the scene without rendering aid or identifying himself or herself. The Nissan Sentra will likely have front end, hood, and windshield damage."
A standing reward of up to $25,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a non-fatal hit-and-run.
