At Least Two People Shot Near Laguna Hills Community Center

LAGUNA HILLS (CNS) - At least two people were shot near the Laguna Hills Community Center, and the circumstances and conditions of the victims remained unclear Sunday.

The shooting was reported at 10:06 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Alicia Parkway and Paseo De Valencia in Laguna Hills.

KTLA reported that the shooting occurred at a quinceañera party, but that could not immediately be confirmed.

"This evening, at about 10 p.m., deputies responded to the Laguna Hills Community Center (in) reference (to) a report of gun shots being heard," the Orange County Sheriff's Department said in a statement. "When deputies arrived, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing. There is no threat to the public."

It was not considered an active shooter or mass shooting event and there was no threat to the community, OCSD Sgt. Frank Gonzalez told The Orange County Register.
