Earthquake Death Toll Reaches 11,000

Monday's 7.8 earthquake in Turkey and Syria is now the deadliest in more than a decade.

  • More than 11,000 lives have been lost so far, with rescue teams quickly losing hope of finding survivors.
  • It's the deadliest earthquake since the 2011 Tohoku quake and tsunami in Japan, which claimed more than 20,000 lives.
