There have been plenty of ups and downs this year for sure, but some people will miss out on their favorite treats in 2023. Here are three foods that got discontinued in 2022.

  • Choco Taco: The ice cream truck staple since the 80s got the axe this year. Klondike announced in July that its taco-shaped ice cream treat will no longer be available. Klondike did issue a statement for those hoping to see a return of the Choco Taco. "We know Choco Taco is a huge fan favorite and a top seller for our out-of-home business, so this is particularly painful. We're working hard to find a way to bring Choco Taco back to ice cream trucks in the coming years."
  • Honest Tea: Created in 1998 Honest Tea was eventually purchased by The Coca-Cola Company in 2011. Coca-Cola laid the ready-made tea brand to rest, but if you just have to have a sweet tea made by the soda giant they still sell their Goldpeak and Peace Teas brands of iced tea.
  • The McRib: McDonald's brought its McRib back in the fall, but claimed it was the "farewell tour," for its sandwich featuring a rib-shaped slab of pork. While McDonald's McRib is a seasonal item that has come and gone throughout the years. A skeptical mind can't help but wonder if the discontinuation of the McRib was merely a marketing ploy for the fast-food chain. Time will tell if we ever see the McRib again. If not, then 2022 was the final time to enjoy a McRib sandwich from McDonald's.
