Hall of Fame Receiver Terrell Owens Wants to Return to the 49ers

One of the greatest wide receivers of all time Terrell Owens wants to suit up one last time for his first NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are having a strong season despite being plagued by injuries. Starting QB Trey Lance and former starter Jimmy Garoppolo both are out with injuries leaving this year's final pick of the draft A.K.A. "Mister Irrelevant" rookie Brock Purdy at QB.

Owens at 49 years old wants to rejoin the 49ers and believes even at his advanced age that he can help the team on the field. He told the team's CEO Jed York that he's ready to return.

"Hey look, man, I've already kind of sprinkled some words out there. Like yo, if you guys need a receiver, I'm good. Listen here: third down, red zone, trust me. I'm a very valuable asset. I've been training ... I'm already ready, I've already reached out to Jed York, I've already told him, 'Yo, if you need somebody, I'm definitely a viable (option)."

Owens played in the NFL for 15 seasons, his first 8 seasons were with the Niners. He spent his final season with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. Owens is third all-time in NFL receiving yards and receptions.
