Sunday night's mass shooting on the University of Virginia campus involved members of the football team, police say.
All three people killed were football players: WR Lavel Davis Jr., WR Devin Chandler, and DL D'Sean Perry.
Two other students wounded in the shooting have not yet been identified.
The suspected gunman, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., is in custody and is a former UVA football player who is listed on the team's 2018 roster as a freshman running back.
Police say the shooting took place on a bus full of students returning from a field trip to Washington D.C.
