US Consumer Prices Increase More than Expected in September

Price inflation in the U.S. reached 8.2% in the month of September, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

  • The consumer price index was up 0.4% in September, compared to a 0.1% increase in August.
  • Food, housing, and medical costs saw the biggest increase, while gas prices dropped last month.
