A pair of mud-encrusted Levi's jeans that were found discarded in New Mexico have sold for more than $87,000.
- While that amount might seem a bit high, it should be noted that the Levi's were made in the 1880s and found in an abandoned mine from that same era, says Zip Stevenson, who -- along with Kyle Hautner -- purchased the jeans. The transaction marked the highest price ever paid for a pair of jeans, experts say.
- "These jeans are surprisingly durable, so they definitely can be worn," Stevenson says. "There's a couple of soft spots on the jeans that could use a bit of reinforcement, but otherwise they're super-duper solid jeans. I could easily imagine Johnny Depp or Jason Momoa wearing them."
