A California man has been locked up after he reportedly punched a flight attendant in the head while traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles on Wednesday.
- Westminster resident Alexander Tung Cuu Le, 33, is facing one count of interfering with flight crew members, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The incident occurred on an American Airlines flight after Le, who'd wandered to the front of the plane after getting into an argument with a flight attendant, was asked by a different flight attendant to return to his seat, prosecutors say. When Le responded by trying to hit him, the flight attendant turned around to report the incident to the captain -- and that's when Le cold-cocked him on the back of his head, per the Attorney's Office.
- After a group of passengers helped restrain him, Le was placed in handcuffs and shackles and secured to a seat with seatbelt extenders, a rep for the airline says. He was taken into custody immediately after the plane landed, the rep adds. He's facing up to 20 years in prison.
