IRVINE (CNS) - A 75-year-old man who authorities said may be in the early stages of dementia and was missing in from his residence in Irvine was found in Tijuana, police said Friday.
Eugene Davila and his vehicle, a white, 1999 two-door Ford Explorer, were reported missing at 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Irvine Police Department.
Davila was located at a cafe in Tijuana, Mexico at 2 p.m. Thursday with the help of the cafe's employees. Police said Davila was disoriented but uninjured and in good condition.
Irvine police detectives worked with Homeland Security investigators to drive Davila to the border and later met him at the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol facility, where they planned to drive him back to Irvine to be reunited with his family.
