LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is in Washington, D.C., this week meeting with various officials on a number of topics, according to his office.
Garcetti departed Monday and is scheduled to return to Los Angeles on Thursday.
According to his office, Garcetti will discuss the city's push for infrastructure bills with Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg. He will also meet with Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House COVID Response Coordinator, to discuss the pandemic, rising cases in Los Angeles County and a likely return to an indoor mask mandate next week.
The mayor will also meet with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Alex Padilla, D-California, on federal support for the Summit of the Americas conference that was held in Los Angeles in June.
