Dun-dun-dun-dun...SHARK!

Officials in Huntington Beach closed ocean access off Sunset Beach, between Anderson Street and Warner Avenue, following a shark sighting this afternoon.

Jennifer Carey, a spokeswoman for Huntington Beach, says a person alerted a lifeguard around 12:30 p.m. that a shark had been spotted.  She says the shark was about 8-12 feet, and based on those sizes it might not be young. The city’s policy is that if a shark shows aggressive behavior or is a certain size, then the waters must close for at least four hours. Carey advised beachgoers to check safebeachday.com for updates.
