More than $2 million has been raised for the 2-year-old boy who lost both of his parents in July 4th's mass shooting in Highland Park.

That's the word from Irina Colon, who set up an online fundraiser for Aiden McCarthy after reading his parents were among seven people who died at the hands of a 21-year-old gunman while attending an Independence Day parade.

"At two years old, Aiden is left in the unthinkable position: to grow up without his parents," Colon says. "He is surrounded by a community of friends and extended family that will embrace him with love, and any means available to ensure he has everything he needs as he grows."

McCarthy was found under the body of his 37-year-old dad, who apparently died while attempting to shield his son from the gunfire.

The suspect in the incident has been charged with seven counts of first-degree murder.
