Retailers may offer you money to avoid returning undesirable things.

  • Several of the largest retail companies, including Target, Walmart, Gap, American Eagle Outfitters, recently stated in their most recent earnings calls that they have an excessive amount of inventory.
  • Items include  bulky children's toys, spring-themed clothing, workout gear, and spring jackets.
  • They are offering stores to keep them since they are spending too much money storing it.
  • Stores are considering just giving customers their money back and letting them cling onto the things they don't want rather than adding returned goods to this increasing inventory dump.
