VAN NUYS (CNS) - A woman was shot to death today in the Van Nuys area, and a man was arrested in the killing, authorities said.
The victim, who was in her 20s, died at the scene of the shooting, which was reported at about 1:35 a.m. near Ranchito Avenue and Oxnard Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Her name was withheld, pending notification of her relatives.
Officers went to the location after receiving a call that the woman had shot herself, and they later arrested the man, police said.
Information was not immediately available from police on the man's name or his relationship to the woman. According to Fox 11, he was the woman's boyfriend.
